22 In the event of disturbances that necessitate contact with the referee and thereby access to the referee room, exemptions beyond the aforementioned functions are granted to the following: • Visiting safety officer • Police For class 3 or 4 matches, exemptions are also permitted for the following functions: • Visiting safety officer • Police The term “central organisation’s personnel” refers to office/administrative staff belonging to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, SHL, SDHL, HockeyAllsvenskan and HockeyEttan. 15. Security of the referee team* 15.1 Procedures for class 3 matches The Swedish Ice Hockey Association informs the referee team and the relevant Referee in Chief that the match is class 3. The organising safety officer submits a situation report to the referee’s room before and after the match. 15.1.1 Procedures before, during and after the match • The referees warm up inside the facility – not in the facility’s public area. • I f no suitable area can be found inside the facility, warmup must take place outdoors, directly adjacent to the designated entrance under strict supervision by a security guard. • The referees are escorted to and from the ice during breaks and at the end of the match. • W hen the referees are in the designated room, the door and the immediate surrounding area must be monitored by a referee attendant, steward or security guard. 15.2 Procedures for class 4 matches* The Swedish Ice Hockey Association informs the referee team and the relevant Referee in Chief that the match is class 4. The organising safety officer submits a situation report to the referee’s room before and after the match. If necessary, a report must also be submitted during the breaks between periods. 15.2.1 Referee transport to and from the facility* • Transport must be by car. • T he organising safety officer is responsible for escorting the referees to and from the referee room upon arrival and departure. • The Swedish Ice Hockey Association informs the referee of the designated pickup location. • The referee informs the rest of the referee team. • T he designated pickup location, where the referees are collected and where their cars are parked, is a matter only for the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and the police. • The designated location must not be directly adjacent to the facility. 15.2.2 At the facility • The referees are dropped off and picked up directly at the designated entrance. • The referees are escorted to and from the referee room. 15.2.3 Procedures before, during and after the match • The referees warm up inside the facility – not in the facility’s public area. • I f no suitable area can be found inside the facility, warmup must take place outdoors, directly adjacent to the designated entrance under strict supervision by a security guard. • The referees are escorted to and from the ice during breaks and at the end of the match. • W hen the referees are in the designated room, the door and the immediate surrounding area must be monitored by a security guard.
