20 13.2 Number* The number of stewards on duty during a match is based on the facility’s requirements and the classification of the match. However, the number must never fall below the number required to maintain full compliance with the Security Rulebook, as well as the number prescribed on the notification certificate. To ensure a high level of service and availability of trained staff when needed, it is mandatory for each club to have at least 20 trained stewards. “Trained steward” means a steward who has completed the following training: • the Swedish Sports Confederation’s steward training course • t he Swedish Sports Confederation’s training on the sports movement’s counter-terrorism preparedness The steward training must have been completed with a passing result for the individual to be considered trained. A pass requires at least 90 per cent correct answers. In addition to the above training, it is recommended that stewards have completed the following courses: • DHLR (defibrillation/CPR) • First aid • Fire protection • Terror preparedness Before each season, it is recommended that at least two of the four courses are held for stewards. It is recommended that all training courses are held at least every other year. 13.3 Steward accreditation To obtain a steward accreditation and to act as a steward, proof of a passed result from the Swedish Sports Confederation steward training course must be sent to the safety officer in the relevant club. 13.4 Steward attire Steward jackets and vests must be yellow with the word “Publikvärd” (“Steward”) displayed on the front and back. For group leaders and persons responsible for groups, the steward jacket and vest may be orange. No objects, printing, messages or logos whatsoever may be attached to the clothing other than the word “Publikvärd” (“Steward”). The clothing must also be equipped with reflective elements. Jackets and vests may only be worn when on duty. Jackets and vests must always (unless otherwise stated) be worn throughout the duty and must be kept fastened. 13.5 Regulations for stewards The main role of the steward in connection with events is to enhance the comfort of the visitors. In the event of unforeseen incidents, the steward, together with the fire service, police and security guards, has an important role to play. The work of a steward is a responsible task. The manner in which a steward works and acts is crucial for ensuring compliance with the service and security requirements set by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association in accordance with the following regulations: • All spectators must be offered optimal service and received in a friendly manner. • The steward must maintain security preparedness with an emphasis on fire and medical care. • The steward must, through their conduct, prevent disturbances from occurring. • T he steward must, in cooperation with the fire service, police, security guards and other security personnel, resolve any situations that arise. In addition to the above, the regulations of the Swedish Sports Confederation’s steward training apply.
