207 RULE 67 – HANDLING THE PUCK • A goalkeeper who throws the puck forward towards the opponent’s net should be assessed a minor penalty. This applies both in Sweden and internationally. In Sweden, there is an interpretation that forward towards the opponent’s net means an imaginary line drawn from the posts up the rink towards the face-off spots. If the puck is thrown within this triangle, it is considered to have been thrown forward. RULE 77 – GAME AND INTERMISSION TIMING • I f any unusual delay occurs within 5 minutes of the end of the first or second periods, the Referee may order the next regular intermission to be taken immediately. RULE 78 – GOALS • I t is clarified that an own goal, where the puck has not touched a player of the attacking team since the last face-off, shall be credited to the center of the attacking team. • A goal can be disallowed if the Linesperson reports to the Referee that the goal was preceded by an offside. RULE 202 – SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT RULES FOR JUNIORS • T he procedure for non-compliance of equipment rules is the same for senior and junior games. The player will be given a warning, and a minor penalty will be assessed for the next infraction for the same player.
